Dual Spectroscopy for Cellular Assays
For rigorous investigation of live cell response, it is useful to obtain a cell count in order to relate the observed biochemical signals to total cell population. By implementing both fluorescence and absorbance detection in the LOV flow chamber, cell count and biochemical signals can be derived from a single experiment. The fluorescence channel was used to measure generation of intracellular H2O2, whereas the absorbance channel was used for cell count. (Lähdesmäki 2009)
